More About Us
Since 2005, we at Linds Kitchen have been committed to giving you an experience you won’t soon forget.
As an elderly lady once hinted to us while enjoying her meal in the sunbeams streaming through the glass ceiling: I must be in paradise now! That is exactly the kind of wow experience we want to give you.
You can waltz across the granite floor in the joy of a wedding, or remember your loved one in times of sorrow. You're also welcome in life's most ordinary moments—when you want to laugh in the company of good friends, or when energy-draining meetings need the refreshing closeness of nature.
The food has to be just as good every day. Our demands on you as a customer are much lower — we want you to feel at home and know you can come just as you are. It doesn’t matter if you follow a special diet or have allergies, because we are always accommodating. However, special meals must always be ordered in advance.
When you dine with us, you can be sure that everything is made from scratch. We want to show that it’s possible to create great food from simple ingredients, just in a different way. We never use too many spices, but we always combine ingredients in surprising ways. We can promise that desserts made with vegetables taste better than you might think—our famous tomato panna cotta is a returning favorite among our guests!
With us, everything grows from bananas and figs to loquats and peaches. When you visit, it should feel like you’ve traveled around the world, even if your cheeks sting from the cold as you step out the door. Thanks to our love of plants, and bumblebees that pollinate all year round, our plant kingdom stays in bloom even during the winter.
We’ve been featured in more than a hundred different newspaper articles, earned a spot on Lonely Planet’s list of the 16 best restaurants in Finland, and been included on Thrillist’s list of the most worthwhile restaurants to visit in Europe. We’re proud of our restaurant, and we do everything we can to make you look forward to visiting us again!
Maria got a gift from above
That’s what Maria Berg, who owns Linds Kök, used to say when she was a child. Her parents grew tomatoes in a greenhouse on the farm, just like many others did at the time—and still do—in Närpes. But you should never say never.
